Bullet coffee is a tasty drink that is suitable for ketogenic diets. It’s easy to make. Here’s how.
Bullet Coffee is a tasty coffee drink made from coconut oil and ghee (clarified butter). It’s very satisfying and filled with healthy fats. Ideally you will be able to source grass fed ghee and organic coconut oil. Because it’s frothed witha blender it foams into what is essentially a delightful cappuccino like drink. Bullet proof coffee is sometime know as “Keto Coffee” and is of course suitable for ketogenic diets.
Kitchen stuff you will need:
- A jug or frothing pitcher
- You favorite coffee cup
- An immersion blender, magic bullet, or a regular blender
- A tablespoon measure (or regular spoons)
- a brewer of some kind (french press, chemex, drip, etc…)
- 12 oz. Francesco’s Organic Coffee (see link at the bottom)
- 1-2 tblspn Coconut Oil or MCL
- 1-2 tblspn Butter or gheee
- 1-2 tblspn 35% cream
Scoop the ghee and coconut oil into the mixing jug or pitcher.
When making bullet coffee, the ghee sticks to the spoon. So pouring hot coffee over the spoon melts the ghee into the cup.
The ghee or butter will stick to the spoon as will the coconut oil. That’s okay, leave it like that for now. If you are using MCL, this isn’t an issue. Add the cream to the coffee so as not to overflow the cup.
Pour the hot coffee into the jug or pitcher. The spoons that you used to scoop the coconut oil and ghee will be in the jug and the oils will now melt off of them.
Remove the measuring spoons after the oils have liquefied and blend 10-20 seconds until it’s nice and frothy.
You can sit back now and enjoy the benefits of this terrific little beverage that many claim helps burn fat, increases mental agility and tastes great to boot! Don’t drink it too quick though or you may feel a little queezy the first few times.
